Note: Spoilers for Episode 3 of this adventure follow below.
The Soldiers Table Revealed
The third episode concluded with a huge suspense moment and introduced the first table of characters who will branch out from the main group to embark on their independent quest, separate from the additional parties.
The Soldiers table features the determined fighter (portrayed by the voice actor), Thimble (Laura), Tyranny (Whitney Moore), Wicander Halovar (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan (the actor).
Dividing the Cast
Considering 13 cast members, it was obvious from the beginning that keeping everyone at the same party would be impossible.
This explains, the initial installments of Campaign 4 serve as an Prelude, connecting the personal journeys before dividing into three distinct groups: Soldiers, Planners, and Explorers.
Characteristics of the Soldiers Table
According to the DM, the warrior group is for players who are drawn to a typically action-packed fight-heavy narrative style where diplomatic options are few and far between.
Initially, figures such as the squeamish cleric Wicander might appear unsuited, but the actions of the third episode show why these five characters are ideally matched for the warrior group.
Why They Must Go
For one thing, the party understands precisely where to proceed after a brutal initial meeting with the antagonists.
An old friend of Thjazi—whose demise started the story’s plot—exploited the enemy for his personal gain, invading Thjazi’s hideout, assaulting the character, and taking all the enchanted items to sell off.
Casimir then settled his liabilities and ran away to a secure base in Gormalay, Timmony, north of the city, with Cyd hot on his heels.
Individual Reasons
Secondly, each member has a individual motive to leave the city Dol-Makjar:
- The agile hero, as the companion and trusted friend, desires retribution.
- Kattigan is familiar with the northern area and cautions that it is a hostile location.
- The strong character and The healer, having resisted his family’s wishes to kill Teor and instead rescued him, have no safe haven.
- But, their status as key figures in the influential clan could assist the group reach areas they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Additionally, The grateful character vowed a unbreakable promise to Wicander for his salvation and will now accompany him anywhere.
Fugitives
Finally, all of them are hunted by the powers that govern Dol-Makjar for a variety of reasons, making remaining behind too risky:
- Thimble and The character are notorious outlaws.
- The warrior and Wicander turned against the powerful family and the legion of demons they are allied with.
- The target is marked for death by the clan.
This means them little choice but to travel to the remote area in pursuit of Casimir.
Upcoming Developments
Based on the recent installment’s follow-up content, we find out that the Soldiers table will not appear the following episode, leaving the remaining eight players to assemble the Explorers and Planners groups.
Viewers can anticipate learning which adventurers will be assigned to which table in the story’s concluding setup installment, available to watch on next week.
